  • Reported Main Breaks

    Details about reported main breaks on pipes 4" or larger, or if a service outage has widespread impact on the community, will be posted online and on social media as information becomes available. The map posted on the BWS homepage will contain the most current information about reported main breaks. If you suspect a water-service outage is affecting your location and information is not posted, call (808) 748-5000 and press '1' at the prompt to get information from a BWS dispatcher.

    Customers are encouraged to stay alert to potential scams targeting water utility customers. This can be by in-person visits from individuals claiming to be BWS personnel or phone calls, emails, or text messages demanding payment on water bills. Here are tips to help customers stay better prepared against scams.

  • Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS)

    The Hawaiian Electric Company’s (HECO) Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) program is a method of wildfire prevention that involves temporarily turning off the power to certain high-risk areas during extreme and potentially dangerous weather conditions. Typically, those weather conditions involve strong winds, low humidity and very dry vegetation — all of which can elevate the risk of wildfire.
