Water Main Renewal and Replacement
The Board of Water Supply systematically replaces and upgrades the underground water infrastructure to proactively reduce the frequency of main breaks, improve fire protection, and ensure system reliability. As a courtesy, BWS posts details on streets and neighborhoods that are currently or will be impacted by the water main renewal and replacement program. Kalama Valley Water System Improvements
RMY Construction, Inc., will be conducting water system improvements in Kalama Valley beginning on or after June 17, 2024. The renewal of the water system will improve water service reliability for customers in the area.

Kalawahine 24-Inch Water Main Project
The projects will install approximately 4,900 feet of new 24-inch water mains along Pensacola Street from Kinau Street to Nehoa Street, Auwaiolimu Street from Nehoa Street to Anianiku Street, and Anianiku Street from Auwaiolimu Street to Fire Hydrant M02678.

Monsarrat Avenue Water System Improvements
The project will install approximately 229 feet of 24-inch water mains, 86 feet of 16-inch water mains, 415 feet of 12-inch water mains, 1,911 feet of 8-inch mains, and 128 feet of 6-inch water mains.

Wahiawa Water System Improvements Part IV Project
The project will install approximately 1,620 feet of 16-inch water mains and 14,570 feet of 8-inch mains along various roadways in Wahiawa.

Service Lateral Replacement in Hawaiʻi Kai
Service lateral replacement project in Hawaiʻi Kai.
The Board of Water Supply is designing a service lateral replacement project in the following areas of Hawaiʻi Kai: ʻĀinahou Street, Kūkuaū Place, Kaiolohia Place, and Kaiolohia Way. As a result, ControlPoint Surveying, Inc., will be conducting surveys of streets, sidewalks, and areas surrounding water meters beginning on or after July 2, 2025. Service laterals are the pipes that connect the water main under the street to the water meters serving each home. This project will improve water service reliability for residents in the construction area.

Kalawahine Reservoir Terminated
On November 17, 2022, BWS Manager and Chief Engineer, Ernest Y.W. Lau terminated the Kalāwahine Reservoir Project slated to be built off of Kapahu St in Papakōlea, Honolulu, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi.
