Central Oʻahu Watershed Management Plan
The Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) has begun the development of the district-wide Central Oʻahu Watershed Management Plan (COWMP). This will be one of eight district water management plans that will comprise the Oʻahu Water Management Plan.
Goal
The overall goal of the COWMP is to formulate an environmentally holistic, community-based, and economically viable watershed management plan that will provide a balance between:
- the preservation and management of Oʻahu's watersheds, and
- sustainable ground water and surface water use and development to serve present users and future generations.

District Size
70,921 acres
- Agricultural: 30,359 acres
- Conservation: 25,645 acres
- Urban: 14,917 acres
