Water Quality – Water for Life

A strong, healthy, and vibrant community and its people rely not only on an ample supply of drinking water but water of the highest quality. The Board of Water Supply strives to ensure quality, confidence, and assurance in every glass of water you drink and every gallon you use each day. BWS follow a three-facet approach:

1. BWS works in conjunction with State and Federal agencies, such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Hawaiʻi State Department of Health (DOH), to continuously collect water samples from the Board's water sources and treatment and distribution systems to ensure BWS delivers and meets the highest water quality standards.
2. BWS conducts ongoing research and stays in touch with other government agencies, water utilities nationwide, and academic institutions to ensure we are aware of, respond to, and know the latest trends, regulatory changes, and environmental issues related to drinking water.
3. BWS is committed to transparency and to providing customers the very best information available so that they know everything there is to know about their drinking water.
