Kalama Valley Water System Improvements

HONOLULU – RMY Construction, Inc., will be conducting water system improvements in Kalama Valley beginning on or after June 17, 2024. The renewal of the water system will improve water service reliability for customers in the area.

The project will replace approximately 5,680 feet of 4-inch, and 8-inch water mains in the following areas:

• Pihana Street from around 1215 Pihana Street to end 
• Nākālele Street from Pihana Street to Kealahou Street
• Kealahou Street from Papalalo Place to end
• Kīʻaʻala Place from Kealahou Street to end 
• Kālina Place from Kealahou Street to end
• Papalalo Place from Kealahou Street to end
• Honokahua Street from Kaeleku Street to end
• ʻOhina Place from Honokahua Street to end
• Honokahua Place from Honokahua Street to end
• Maloʻo Place from Honokahua Street to end
• Wawau Street from Honokahua Street to Kaʻeleku Street

The project will also replace approximately 2,260 feet of 12-inch water mains along Kealahou Street from around Nākālele Street to Papalalo Place.

Additionally, the project will also include the replacement of service laterals in the following areas:

• Kaʻeleku Street from Honokahua Street to end
• Pihana Street from around 1214 Pihana Street to Kahului Street
• Kahului Street from around 1167 Kahului Street to Kaʻeleku Street
• Honokahua Street from Kahului Street to Kepaniwai Street
• Kepaniwai Street from Honokahua Street to Kaeleku Street
• Kealahou Street from around 661 Kealahou Street to Huialoha Street
• Huialoha Street from Kahului Street to Kealahou Street
• Muʻolea Place to end
• Inuwai Place to end
• Inuwai Way to end 
• Eaea Place to end 
• Olowalu Place to end
• Olowalu Way to end
• Puʻu Māhoe Place to end
• Kamaʻomaʻo Place to end
• Nāpoko Place to end

Road work will occur Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will involve lane closures at various locations throughout the work area. Area residents and motorists are advised to expect delays during construction hours. Based on the current schedule, this project will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.
