News Release: Board of Water Supply (BWS) customers in Haiku Valley and Haiku Plantations may experience signs of air in their tap water over the next few weeks, starting on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, as the BWS proceeds with water system improvement work in the area. This situation is NOT related to the water quality issues at Red Hill or to the BWS’s shutdown of three wells.

BWS Payroll and Employee Benefits Affected by Cyber Attack on Cloud-Based Provider
News Release: On Sunday evening, Dec. 12, 2021, the Board of Water Supply (BWS) was notified of a cybersecurity attack disrupting Kronos Private Cloud (KPC) services, which houses solutions used by its customers, including BWS. “Kronos Workforce,” the BWS’s timekeeping system, is one of these solutions. The BWS immediately shut off all access to KRONOS.

News Release: The Board of Water Supply (BWS) was informed late this afternoon about contamination at the Navyʻs Aiea-Halawa Shaft. Immediately after being alerted, the BWS took precautionary measures and shut down their Aiea Well and Halawa Well.

BWS Supports Department of Health's Decision Red Hill Fuel Tankson
News Release: The Board of Water Supply (BWS) applauds the decision of the Department of Health to issue an Emergency Order requiring the Navy to immediately suspend fuel storage operations at the Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility, expeditiously install a drinking water treatment system at the Navy’s Red Hill Shaft drinking water well, and promptly take action to defuel the Red Hill underground storage tanks.

News Release: The contractor for the Lanikai Water System Improvements, Part II, project, will be conducting a planned water outage affecting all restrooms, fountains, and showers at Kailua Beach Park on Monday, November 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Customers in the Lanikai area are asked to please use water for essential needs only such as cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene during the outage.

Board of Water Supply Receives Grant through HI-EMA for Emergency Resiliency
News Release: The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency (HI-EMA) recently facilitated the award of $787,500 in federal grant funding for the Board of Water Supply (BWS) to protect Oahu’s water. The Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funds to purchase two mobile generators for more than $1 million to provide redundant power at key pumping facilities serving over 40,000 Oahu residents.

Lane Closures on Beretania Street Between Punahou Street and Waiau Place
News Release: Integrated Construction, Inc., is scheduled to investigate site conditions for an upcoming project on Beretania Street on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The investigation will result in the closure of two mauka lanes of Beretania Street between Punahou Street and Waiau Place, including the Diamond Head left turn lane onto Beretania Street from Kalakaua Avenue.

BWS to Re-Open Lobby November 1, 2021 for Walk-in Payments and Appointment-Only Customer Service
News Release: Beginning November 1, 2021, the Board of Water Supply (BWS) will re-open the Public Service Building lobby, located at 630 S. Beretania Street, by appointment only during normal business hours. Visitors requiring in-person services at the BWS are advised that the BWS will be operating its public lobby under the “Safe Access Oahu” program. Visitors must provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative COVID-19 test result (results within the last 48-hours).

A company specializing in marine welding has been contracted to do the repair from the inside of the pipe. Today, they will be on-site prepping the pipe to start the repair on Saturday, June 26.
