Monsarrat Avenue Water System Improvements Project


PROJECT OVERVIEW

  • MEI Corporation will be working to install approximately 229 feet of 24-inch water mains, 86 feet of 16-inch water mains, 415 feet of 12-inch water mains, 1,911 feet of 8-inch mains, and 128 feet of 6-inch water mains in the Waikiki and Diamond Head areas.

  • The list of streets to be impacted includes:
    • Monsarrat Avenue from Paki Avenue to Campbell Avenue
    • Campbell Avenue from Kaunaoa Street to Monsarrat Avenue
    • Kakaina Avenue from Kaunaoa Street to Monsarrat Avenue
  • Current work area: The contractor is restoring the sidewalk and installing new fire hydrants on Kanaina Avenue between Kaunaoa Street and Monsarrat Avenue; and Monsarrat Avenue between Paki Avenue and Leahi Avenue.

    *In accordance with the City's annual Construction Holiday Travel Lane Closure Restrictions, planned road work for the project will be on hold from December 19, 2025 to January 1, 2026.

  • This project will involve traffic modifications and lane closures along the work site. When the project begins road users are advised to obey all traffic controls, posted signs, and special duty officers. Road closures are scheduled to occur Mondays to Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. except for observed state holidays.
  • The renewal of the water system will improve water service reliability for customers in the area.
